Paint effects
5/12/2009 12:13:28 AM
Paint effects are often used to create a classic and a timeless atmosphere.  It is quite a labour intensive operation and requires an eye for detail, as well as lots of patience.  Detail can also be seen in the craftmanship itself.  The details cornices and door moulds offer the perfect canvas for paint effects.  Paint techniques are difficult to achieve on flat surfaces.

Black and white
5/12/2009 12:04:30 AM
Opposites sometimes bring out the best in any project.  Black and white materials can be used create a stunning contrast.  Usually the darker material will be used for the countertops and floors (horizontal planes) and the lighter materials for the cabinets and walls (vertical planes).  Darker materials are easier to keep clean.

Limewashed effect
5/11/2009 11:56:51 PM
You can make any kitchen look like a country style kitchen by selecting a limewashed finish.  Many melamine boards have a limewashed look and can easily achieve this type of look.  Other items such as wicker baskets and frosted glass add to the general country theme.

Sliding doors and drawers in the bedroom
5/11/2009 11:46:15 PM

A lot more planning goes into bedroom cupboards when you need to incorporate sliding doors.  Suddenly you cannot just have drawers anywhere you want.  You have to take into account the widths of each sliding door and the position where it will stop.  But in the end sliding doors save a lot of space.

This bedroom was designed for a very special client.  She was wheelchair-bound and couldn't have doors opening towards her.  Most shelves could pull out so that she doesn't have to reach far.

Dark Mahogany veneer with Glass splashbacks
5/11/2009 11:40:31 PM
We recently achieved quite a nice balance between dark Mahogany veneer and orange glass splashbacks.  During the design phase I didn't think it would work out so nicely, but our client insisted, and she was right!

Creative Breakfast Area
12/28/2008 11:32:23 PM

A well-designed breakfast nook can function as a beautiful focus point in the kitchen.  It also lends itself towards the entertainment of friends and family, even while the cook is performing the last few chores in the kitchen.

We recently finished this project in Red Alder melamine and Rustenburg granite.  Note also how the bulkhead above the breakfast counter follows the same shape and size.

Exquisite bathrooms

A lot can be achieved through clever planning in the bathroom.  Confined spaces challenge us to rethink conventional designs.  The high moisture environment often requires us to upgrade the materials to Surinno, veneer or PVC wrap components.

Below are a few examples of our latest achievements.
